Reviews
“drummer Chris Bussey stands out as the preposterously talented instrumentalist with a tone and attack huge enough to fill any stadium, let alone a nightclub...”
Daniel Spicer on trioVD ‘Fill It Up With Ghosts’
“.....with Bussey’s maverick inclinations, the resulting flow of brilliant and busy ideas are unstoppable as they are breathtaking”
BBC Music Magazine on trioVD ‘Fill It Up With Ghosts’
..."it’s drummer Chris Bussey that brings an extraordinary energy and charisma to their live show (trioVD). Bussey’s ferocious attack, sheer exuberance and abundant virtuosity combine with a high wire, devil-may-care humour that’s wrapped up in a manic Keith Moon grin that simply bursts of the stage”
Mike Flynn Jazzwise
“Rapidly making a name for producing some of the most progressive sounds anywhere in the country”
Daniel Spicer : Jazzwise
“Chris Bussey is emerging as being one of the most important young musicians in the music business”
(Producer Simon Humphrey; Abba / David Byrne)
“Likes his tea strong as a badger, a true Yorkshireman”
(Producer Richard Lacey; Edens Bridge)
Minghe Morte Album Review Jazzwise 08
“Confrontational, clownish and clever”
“Supremely funky approximations of drum and base and garage house”
“Intense scatological bursts of violent jump cuts and vein busting skronk”
TrioVD review Vortex Jazz Club
“...with drummer Bussey completing this triple whammy of 1970s style loose-limbed abandon with some distinctly Cobham-esque pounding this trio is bursting with barely contained passion”
“it’s this band’s edgy humour, dark near-Satanic thrashing and disdainful virtuosity is both vivid and refreshing”
(Mike Flynn::Jazzwise / Time Out)
“...with stick spins, grease bucket grooves and elaborate showmanship, drummer Chris Bussey propels this post parliament band with total authority.”
